	Objectives
	Our current objectives: Our primary aim is to benefit homeless people. We believe that the best way to have an impact in this is to backup and reinforce the existing services. We think that the work existing organisations are doing is very worthwhile and effective. We believe that they reach the homeless and help them deal with their needs while building rapport. We will actually be addressing the issue of homelessness in several ways: 1. Working with existing homeless organisations. 2. Providing an electronic information resource network. 3. Working directly with the homeless. Below are the three points explained in more detail: 1. Working with existing homeless organisations: We aim to help existing organisations in two ways: Firstly, supporting existing initiatives which address issues including: · Hunger · Shelter · Drug and alcohol abuse · Rehousing · Standard of living and day to day activities · Social exclusion · Education · Medical needs Secondly, develop and support new initiatives for individual organisations such as: · Bread tokens. This initiative seeks to circulate bread food tokens so that tokens can replace monetary gifts given to homeless people. These food tokens can be spent at participating homeless organisations. · Creating revenue via our internet shopping portal · Organising various outward-bound activities as sponsored events. · And more… In summary we aim to raise the profile of existing organisations by supporting them in their initiatives. We aim also to research, develop and implement new initiatives that will tackle homeless issues.		Objectives continued 2. Providing an electronic information resource network. This information network will have several purposes. · Enable organisations to communicate and share ideas. · Provide organisations with a free e-mail service. · Build a database of information showing case studies of effective homeless projects, available for anyone to access. · Allow organisations to promote themselves via our websites. · Capture feedback and new initiative ideas. · Create a directory of homeless organisations. 3. Working directly with the homeless At the moment we do not have the funds to work directly with the homeless, but in the future we may wish to buy property to use to help homeless people. Here is a list of our ideas: Internet café where both homeless people and others are welcome. We believe this will become a meeting point for all kinds of people and should allow people to talk, share their life stories, experiences and troubles in a non-judgemental or stigmatised environment. · Running training programs that will provide homeless people with new skills that help them apply for employment. · Encourage other services such as 'Occupational Therapy' to have an impact with the homeless. We do not aim to reinvent the wheel by doing what other organisations are already doing but seek to work, merge and develop with existing organisations.
